What is Resource?
A resource room is a classroom for students with disabilities and is a form of special education. The resource teacher helps the students with the areas they struggle with in school. For example, some students struggle with understanding what they have read in books. For these students, the teacher will work with the students on comprehending what they read. Having a child in a resource room does not mean that there is anything wrong with the child, but instead it can mean that the child simply learns a little differently or needs a little extra help from a teacher. All students learn differently and the resource room is a place where students can learn how they can do their best in school. As the resource teacher, it is my job to work with the students individually and in small groups so each student can reach their goals and succeed in school.
